Hotel Review: Parc Sovereign Hotel - Albert Street

During my return trip to Singapore, I was looking for a comfortable place to stay that has easy access to the train station, restaurants and everything I needed.

Facilities

Once I entered the hotel, I saw cozy places to sit down and rest before checking-in. This is a plus because the queue might be long or you'd have to wait a while before the room is ready for check-in. Take note: I didn't have any trouble checking-in, I just appreciated the comfortable and homey ambiance as soon as I entered the hotel.

Parc Sovereign at Albert Street has its own restaurant, the only meal I had here was breakfast. The breakfast buffet was satisfying and had plenty of choices, but better eat earlier because the food might be cold later in the day. However, the staff does their best to keep the food warm for guests.

For those who want a day to just stay at the hotel and rest, Parc Sovereign has its own swimming pool, lounge area and playground for families with kids.

The hotel also has its own gym with basic machines, but don't expect much though since it is in a small room with just a handful of equipment.

Room

The room is just what I expected from a hotel in the same category as Parc Sovereign. I'm a no fuss guy so all the basics were covered with some extras that I liked. The bed was comfortable and the blankets were snug when it got too cold at night.

My work area while in Singapore
Having a desk and chair in the room is always a plus for a digital nomad like myself.

The bathroom and toilet have the basics down pat, but the shower area was quite small, even for a short guy like myself. If I was any taller, I'd have a difficult time taking a bath here because of the cramped space.

The room was perfect to spend an entire day in lounging around and watching movies, if you don't feel like going out for a long time.

Location

Parc Sovereign at Albert Street has a convenient location near the train station, shops, stores and shopping areas. This makes it easy to buy the things you need and get to attractions.

Service

The staff was friendly and attentive when you have questions. They will provide you with the information you need about attractions, things to do, places to eat and others. They also provide guests with the option to use Handy, a handheld device that knows everything about Singapore. I browsed through the phone to learn about places I haven't been to and decide where to go. You can also use the phone's applications to get around and even make calls.

Pricing

Parc Sovereign isn't a budget hotel, so if you want to spend more for your trip, this is the place to stay in. Its accessibility, strong Internet connection and facilities provide good value for money.
