Caramoan's popularity rose when it became one of the locations of the hit TV series Survivor. This destination was chosen because of its raw beauty and middle-of-nowhere appeal. I visited these group of islands and enjoyed my trip at that time. The islands were pristine and the views beautiful. There were times when our group was the only one visiting an island. Our boatman pointed out some of the sites where the cast set up camp.

Catanduanes is slowly gaining popularity for both local and foreign tourists. But few flights, partially paved roads, and unpredictable weather still make Catanduanes a hidden gem with plenty of pristine and unspoilt beaches.


Catanduanes has affordable food but very few choices when it comes to accommodations and it is quite difficult to get to some of the attractions.

As we were already in Catanduanes, my friend and I included Caramoan in our itinerary. Getting to Caramoan from Catanduanes is easier compared to traveling from Naga.
