My Experience at SEDA Abreeza Davao City

I managed to book really cheap tickets from Manila to Davao City. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to return to a region that has plenty to offer.

My Room

The room given to me was spacious and included buffet breakfast. The bed was comfortable and I could easily change the temperatures of the air conditioning, if it was to warm or too cold.

It also had the usuals, a small refrigerator to store drinks, some bottles of water and things needed to make coffee. Cable TV was available for those who want to just stay in rather than go out.

The little things matter when it comes to having a comfortable stay. The bathroom had everything I needed and it was spacious enough not to feel closed in. There was hot and cold water for showering after exploring the city and nearby attractions.

The Internet connection was good throughout my stay, this is important to people who need decent connection for work. The table, lamp and chair were little things that mattered to me.

Facilities

For those who want to stay in the hotel rather than go out exploring, SEDA Abreeza has its own pool and lounge area.

There is also a small gym for those who want to exercise and maintain their workout regimen.

I liked how there are seats near the elevators and in some of the hallways. These aren't just comfortable, but also blended well with the overall concept of the hotel.

You can rest and sit down near the lobby before and after checking in.

Dining

SEDA has a very swanky looking dining area, and quite large too.

There is a good selection of drinks for those who want a night cap before calling it a night or have one while eating dinner.

As for the breakfast buffet, it had a good selection of breads, desserts, meat, rice, fruits, cheese and omelettes just to name a few. I had a good hearty meal before heading out to explore the nearby attractions.

Location

SEDA is conveniently located near Abreeza (walking distance) and is right next to a main road where many public transportation vehicles pass. If you don't have a car or don't want to take a taxi, you can easily get to Sasa Wharf (port for Samal Island) or to Ecoland Terminal by public transport.

Customer Service

Some hotels are only expensive and look good; however, what separates the best ones from the rest is customer service. Little things like smiling, greeting, asking what a guest needs and helping guests without being asked are signs of good customer service. SEDA delivered on these small details, which makes a stay worthwhile.

Pricing

SEDA is on the expensive side when it comes to accommodation, so if you're traveling on a budget, this isn't your first option. For business travelers and for those who want to pay more, the pricing of the rooms are competitive for those in the same category.

Pricing: 4/5

Would I recommend SEDA Abreeza?

Depending on what you're looking for and what type of traveler you are, I would recommend SEDA because of its central location and the facilities and services you get for the price you pay. What separates the best hotels from the competition is not the price, but value and doing the little things excellently. SEDA won me over because of the last two things mentioned.
