I was fortunate enough to watch some of the events during the Southeast Asian Games in 2019. I was there with a group of bloggers to cover a few of the events and explore the facilities.
It was an overall fun event where we got to mingle with a few of the athletes and see how impressive the facilities were.
SEA Games 2019
The first time I experienced the SEA Games was as a liaison officer for Wushu back when I was in college. That was more than a decade ago. At that time, I was one of the liaison officers for Team Indonesia. We escorted them to and from events and to and from their hotel. We made sure they were at the venues on time. It was also a bit chaotic (much like government run events and organizations in the Philippines), but I had a blast interacting with the team I was with and the other athletes from other countries.
Aquatics Center
One of the events we saw was water polo. I had very little knowledge of this sport but it was interesting to watch.
Athletics Stadium
There were no events during the time I visited, but I found the Athletics Stadium impressive. I could imagine fans cheering for their teams in this world-class venue.
