Salagdoong Beach |
P100 - Motorbike to Dumaguete Pier (P300 for two bikes and 3 persons with stops to Jollibee for lunch)
P136 - One way boat ride via Montenegro Lines to Larena Port in Siquijor (we rode a huge boat that could also carry cars)
P120 - One way boat ride from Siquijor to Dumaguete via Jaylann
P400 - We hired a tricycle to take us around Siquijor for the whole day (P1,200 total, spread among 3 people, he initially charged us an atrocious price of P1,800!). It's pricey and I know others could've gotten this for less than P1,000. I didn't mind paying because it was spread among 3 people and the driver was just trying to make a living.
P600 - Overnight stay in Lazi Beach Club (P1400 total shared with 3 people)
P688 - Food, water and pasalubong
P475 - Transportation for the entire stay in Siquijor and Dumaguete (I really should work on my negotiating skills)
P35 - Fees to Cambugahay Falls and Salagdoong Beach in Siquijor
P85 - Entrance fee and snorkeling gear in Dauin District 1 Marine Sanctuary
P350 - Overnight stay in Harold's Inn in Dumaguete
P2989 - Total Expenses for 3 days & 2 nights in Siquijor and Dumaguete excluding airfare
I still need to work on my budgeting skills.
How to get to Siquijor
It's easy to get to Siquijor, book a flight to Dumaguete, Cebu, or Bohol then ride a fast ferry. For our trip, we took the Dumaguete-Siquijor route. We booked a boat to Siquijor from Dumaguete via Montenegro Lines that cost us P136 one way.
Traveling around Siquijor
You can travel around in a motorbike if you have a license and know how to use one. The rates are P250/day and P50/hour.
Rent a van for P3000/day.

ReplyDeleteHey I heard that there are engkantos and some similar horror stories (those who will offer you drink and when you accept and drink it, you will be brought to their "kingdom") in Siquijor. What's your take on that?
ReplyDelete@Rochkirstin: it's not true, although our driver told us about a family of witch doctors living in the mountains, but they're only one family.

ReplyDeletePhilippines is loaded with breath taking places. I hope the tourists will realize that but with the economy and increasing crime rates, they chose not to visit our country.
ReplyDeleteTo go out for a trip especially around the country is a major solution to free oneself of the stressful world we live in. This is one is a good recommendation to pay a visit, besides of the actual expenses and everything are well presented.

Its the sister University of my Alma Mater Central Philippine University in Iloilo.
just wanted to ask, have you hired a tour guide or you just roam around at your own? or the driver itself serves as a tour guide?thanks..

Your friends at real estate in dumaguete
Just came back from a Dumaguete-Siquijor-Apo Island Tour (June 9 to 12, 2013). The mobile number here for the multicab rental is from "Charles." He's nice and accommodating. Update on the rates, we paid him 2,100 inclusive of port transfers (port to hotel and back the following day) plus the Infinity Resort Tour. According to Charles, there are 2 types of tour, one is the one you mentioned here which is similar to what we did and another one is more the hiking/mountain tour which will include some cave tours.
