The next destination I had in mind during my almost two weeks in Northern Mindanao, was Bukidnon. Fortunately, there was a shuttle that took passengers to Dahilayan Adventure Park from CDO.
Learning How to Fly
I first knew about Dahilayan Adventure Park when it was featured on TV. Since I've done the zip line in Lake Sebu, I wanted to try something else, The Drop Zone.
Just looking at the contraption that would catapult me through the air gave me a mixed sense of fear and excitement.
I anxiously waited for my turn, when I was finally put on the harness, everything was good to go. I was slowly lifted off the ground, until I was several feet in the air. The person handling the ride started a countdown, but when he reached zero, I wasn't ready to pull the string. I hesitated and took a minute or so before I pulled the string. The initial drop was exciting and terrifying at the same time. I released a muffled scream and felt my stomach turn. It only took a second or so to reach the lake, I then swung upward and felt weightless. After the initial scare, I felt that the ride ended too soon. I wanted to do it again! But because I was on a tight budget I decided to just explore the park.

The Cold Highlands
After an exciting ride through the skies, I explored the park. The weather in this part of Bukidnon reminded me of Baguio and Lake Sebu. It was not too cold but just right. The pine trees and landscape were picture perfect.
I had a lot of time to kill before the return trip to the city. The park was the perfect place to walk around in because of the cool weather and scenery. I managed to see the other rides in the park, not anything unique that you can't find in other eco-tourism parks. I only found two restaurants in the area, the food they served was around P150 and up, but you can bring your own food though.
How to Get to Dahilayan Adventure Park
On the way to Dahilayan, we passed by a pineapple plantation. The view was quite scenic as we passed by farmlands.
Fortunately for me, there was a shuttle that took passengers from Coffeeworks in Divisoria CDO. I paid the P350 round trip fare and went to Coffeeworks in Divisoria at around 8:00 to 8:30AM for the departure and departs to Cagayan de Oro City from the park at around 4:00PM. The shuttle to Dahilayan is only available on Saturdays. You can contact Zipzone through 09228801319 about where you can pay the P350 fare. You can book and pay on the same day before the bus departs, but guests who already paid are given priority.
Alternatively, you can ride a van to Camp Phillips from Cagayan de Oro City for P60 one-way, and rent a motorcycle for P300 to reach the park. Take note that the road to the park is dusty and rough.

OMG! I have Acrophobia. Even when crossing an overpass in Manila scares the hell out of me. But who knows, I might face it one day.
