I managed to book really cheap tickets from Manila to Davao City. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to return to a region that has plenty to offer.

I was supposed to do different things during my return trip to the Davao region; however, bad weather ruined my plans of visiting Cateel for Aliwagwag Falls and Awao Falls in Compostela Valley. When the skies cleared for a while, I found the opportunity to finally do something else during my trip. I decided to return to Samal Island to go to two places I have yet to visit during my first trip a few years ago.

I was looking for a place to visit during my visit to Fukuoka; I stumbled upon Dazaifu when I researched about attractions near the city. It has centuries of history that is worth discovering and exploring.

I was able to book really cheap tickets to Davao City, I didn't hesitate to return to the region to explore another province I have yet to discover, Davao Oriental. As soon as I arrived at the airport, I went to the main road and boarded a bus bound for Mati City.

After seeing pictures of the beautiful Mt. Ulap, I was sure I was going to climb it this 2017. My friend and I were supposed to join a group I found on Facebook, but after asking the organizer about details for the trip, the tour was already closed. So we decided to organize the trip on our own, and thankfully we managed to push through with our trip to Mt. Ulap.

Shangri-La is one of the highest places in Yunnan, if I'm not mistaken, it's around 3000 meters above sea level. I was a bit groggy from the journey from Kunming, but I was raring to explore this part of China. I felt a slight headache during the first day, because of altitude sickness, but I got used to it after a day.

I just got out of the overnight bus from Kunming to Shangri-La. I was still drowsy when I got to the hostel. It wasn't check-in time yet, so I was looking for something to do to pass the time. A French guest was planning to go to Sumetseling Monastery that date. She asked me if I wanted to tag along, since I had nothing and no idea what to do, I decided to join her.
