Top Beaches in the Philippines

By On July 16, 2022

I've traveled around the Philippines and seen some of the country's most beautiful beaches. Some have fine, white sand while others are golden brown. Some of these places can rival beaches found in other countries.

Things to Do in Coron

By On July 08, 2022

I've been to Coron three times and would definitely return. This part of Palawan can rival some of the best beach destinations I've been to. The chill vibe of the town despite tourism development is a nice contrast to the changes that have taken place in El Nido. There are now more dining and affordable accommodation options since my first visit several years ago.

Coron Island Escapade: Malcapuya and Banana Island, and Bulog Dos

By On May 08, 2022

I got the chance to return to one of my favorite destinations in the Philippines, Coron. It was my 3rd time going but I wouldn't mind going again and again. Coron is a beautiful destination. For this trip I decided to do a tour that I wasn't able to do the first 2 times I was here.

I had a great time just hanging out and swimming.

My Favorite Destinations in the Philippines

By On June 27, 2021

I've been to more than half of the provinces in the Philippines. I've enjoyed my own country's beautiful beaches, lagoons, mountains and other natural attractions. I have a few favorite places I wouldn't mind returning to (and I have returned to a few times).

Coron Tourism Requirements for the New Normal

By On February 21, 2021

Many of us are still wary of traveling because of the potential health consequences created by the pandemic. However, after several months, some provinces are ready to open their doors for tourists as long as they submit certain requirements. Coron is one of those places that are ready to accept visitors.

Best Places to Stay in Coron

By On February 29, 2020
Coron is a favorite destination of many local and foreign tourists. It comes as no surprise because the island has so many beautiful natural attractions such as the famous Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Calauit Safari and Malcapuya Island just to name a few. It has a number of accommodations for those on a budget and for those who are willing to spend.

Here are recommended places to stay in Coron.

Top Reasons to Visit Palawan

By On October 24, 2016
Palawan is one of the best islands to visit in the world according to Conde Nast Traveler. There are many reasons this is so, I've been to the island a handful of times already and am planning to return.

Lost at Sea

By On April 06, 2016
It was my second time in Coron, for this trip I wanted to try something else. I decided to go on a tour to visit the safari and (supposedly) Black Island. However, things didn't go as planned, but the adventurous side of me didn't mind.

Coron Revisited: Seeing Something New in Something Old

By On March 23, 2016
I have been to Coron back in 2013, it has been more than two years since my last visit. It may not seem like a long time, but to put things in perspective, I've been to other beaches in Southeast Asia. This allowed me to see something new in something that I have been to before.

Coron Vs. El Nido

By On May 13, 2013
I had the chance to visit both Coron and El Nido this summer. Now, I'll do the difficult task of comparing Coron and El Nido. The amount of research, time, effort, statistics, food, and energy expended on this post put in by the committee of one has led to the stupendous, marvelous, grandiloquent, <insert more fancy words here> Coron Vs. El Nido face-off.

Itinerary, Expenses & Accommodations in Coron

By On April 03, 2013
Coron is one of those places that I would like to go back to over and over again. Its pristine beaches, rustic atmosphere, and friendly people make it a perfect destination all throughout the year. Coron is also my first trip to another Philippine province by myself. I've tried traveling to another country solo so the next thing I decided to do was travel solo to a province in the Philippines.

Coron Chronicles: Underwater

By On March 31, 2013
Coron is astonishing underwater as it is above it. I had the chance to snorkel different coral gardens during my Coron tour around different islands.

The coral gardens I got to visit were: Twin Peaks, CYC Coral Garden, Smith Coral Garden, Skeleton Wreck. All of the snorkeling spots I got to visit were great in their own way.

The Mystique of Kayangan lake

The new day was just over the horizon as the sun's finger tips traced the linings of the karst rock formations across the sea. There it was in the near distance, paradise.

Coron Chronicles: Mt. Tapyas & Maquinit Hot Spring

By On March 20, 2013
When I got the opportunity to book cheap flights to Coron, I couldn't resist and just booked the flights and scoured the Internet for affordable accommodations. The thought of looking at the famous Kayangan Lake landscape made me excited already. But before I got to Kayangan Lake, I made my way to Maquinit Hot Spring and Mt. Tapyas.
